REEF formed in 1993, signing to Sony imprint S2 Records the following year. Their debut 1995 album ‘Replenish’ achieved Gold status and saw the band play shows with the Rolling Stones, Paul Weller and Soundgarden.
The follow up to Replenish, 1997’s ‘Glow’ stormed the UK Charts at Number 1 and included the single ‘Place Your Hands’. In 1999 the band released ‘Rides’ (George Drakoulias) and in the same year the band saw off the likes of Oasis and Pulp to win the Music Industry’s Soccer Six competition. Rides was followed by the poppier sounding ‘Getaway’ produced by Al Clay (Pixies, Stereophonics) in 2000 which was most notable for the single ‘Set The Record Straight’. Always a favourite at shows and Festivals alike, the band made many high profile appearances during this period, including Glastonbury and Reading festivals.
This incredible box set compiles all these phenomenal successes and lovingly documents the story of how West Country’s finest sons went from fledgling band to one of the best loved rock acts of the nineties.

REEF - New adventures and summer festivities
Reef are confirmed to play the Lusty Glaze Festival on Sunday May 29, 2011 when all this dim, depressing, dismal weather will be a distant memory. In theory.
This is the first announcement of what we hope will be a run of festivals in the summer. But it does seem a long way off in January..
What, you ask, are the Reef folk up to in between times?
Dom is writing and working on the finer details of the new Black Swan Effect album which will be recorded in Paris at Charlie Winston’s studio. We will keep you posted on that.
While continuing to tour this isle, Gary & Jack’s wonderful StringerBessant album Yard is taking a new turn in early 2011 with a PLEDGE MUSIC campaign where you can get involved from the ground up on new releases - in this case the new EP - plus a whole myriad of exciting packages all of which give a portion of the profit to Surfers Against Sewage.
Kenwyn is continuing to write and record with his new project Goldray, currently in the rehearsal studio in London with vocalist Leah Rasmussen and drummer Paul Winter-Hart (Kula Shaker), getting the first album finished up and preparing for a string of live dates scheduled for February, March and April of next year.
We’ll keep you posted on all new shows, side projects and releases right here.

Templeton Pek do 30 Seconds To The Charts
Back in the heady days of 2010 when Reef were playing in Wolverhampton, they were joined by opening band TEMPLETON PEK who know where things belong. Where they are at. What is the what. Yes yes.
This three a side squad are looking to do something superb to help out the Teenage Cancer Trust and so Reef thought it best to spread the word. You can too.
Here’s the plot.
They are going to release the SHORTEST SONG ever to rattle the cages of the pop charts - 30 Seconds Too Far is out on January 31 and all proceeds go to Teenage Cancer Trust so do the right thing and pick this tune up on iTunes or, if killer rock and pop is not your thing but doing the right thing is, you can always donate directly here. Let’s help them do this, for those that help are our kind of people!
